This is the dry season, when wildlife is easiest to spot. It’s also the peak of the Great Migration in the northern Serengeti (July–September), with thrilling Mara River crossings.
Secondary Season: January to March
The calving season in the southern plains brings dramatic predator-prey action. Avoid April and May due to heavy rains and muddy conditions.

By Road: Drive from Arusha (325 km, about 7-8 hours).
Ngorongoro Crater – A Wildlife Wonderland

Alternative: December to March
This is Calving season for wildebeest migration in Ndutu area .
There is lush scenery and active birdlife, with fewer tourists. However, April and May are less ideal due to heavy rain.
How to Get There:
By Air: Fly to Lake Manyara Airstrip, then drive (1-hour flight + 2-hour drive).
By Road: Drive from Arusha (180 km, about 4 hours).
Zanzibar Beaches – Relax in Paradise
Best Time: June to October
Cool breezes, sunny skies, and calm seas make this perfect for beach holidays, diving, and snorkeling.
Good Time: December to February

Avoid March to May, which brings long rains and rougher sea conditions.
How to Get There:
By Air: Fly from Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro International Airport to Zanzibar (1-hour flight).
By Ferry: Take a ferry from Dar es Salaam (1.5-2 hours).

Mount Kilimanjaro – Climb Africa’s Highest Peak
Best Time: January to March & June to October
These are the optimal trekking seasons, offering dry weather, clear skies, and higher summit success rates. The Machame and Marangu routes are most popular.
Avoid climbing in April, May, and November due to slippery trails and low visibility.
How to Get There:
By Air: Fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport, then drive to the base (1-hour drive).
By Road: Drive from Arusha (80 km, about 1.5 hours).
