12-Day Explore Kenya-Tanzania with a Zanzibar Extension

Today you're picked up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport and whisked away on a scenic 2-hour drive through the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival at Lake Naivasha, step right into the wild with a guided walking safari on Crescent Island. With no predators around, you’ll walk safely among giraffes, zebras, impalas, and waterbucks an up-close experience that feels like stepping into a nature documentary.

After your walk, you’ll head to your lodge to check in, enjoy a hearty lunch, and take a bit of time to relax in the peaceful setting. But the day isn’t over yet! In the afternoon, glide across the shimmering waters of Lake Naivasha on a boat safari. Watch hippos wallow just feet away, and marvel as fish eagles dive dramatically for their catch. The shoreline comes alive with wildlife, making this a magical way to end your first full safari day. Return to your lodge for dinner and a tranquil evening under the stars.

Your journey continues with an early morning drive into the heart of Kenya’s safari destination, the Masai Mara. As you descend into the vast savannah, the landscape opens up to reveal sweeping plains dotted with acacia trees and wildlife as far as the eye can see. 

You’ll arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch and a short rest before setting out on your first thrilling afternoon game drive.

After breakfast, we have a full-day game drive with packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-maned lion as well as its abundant resident wildlife, and it's one of the few places where it's possible to see the Big Five during a morning game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one's vehicle, and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey.

For the bird enthusiasts, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these, 16 species of eagles, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustards (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds. Morning game drive in Maasai Mara and transfer to Serengeti.

We will initiate the day with an early morning game drive in Maasai Mara while driving out of the National reserve. After border formalities, drive to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

It will be a long day of driving, but the game drives in and out of the parks can be surprisingly incredible. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation

After an early breakfast, depart for the Isebania border and complete the necessary border formalities before crossing from Kenya into Tanzania. After lunch, continue toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. Upon entering the park, enjoy an afternoon game drive as you make your way toward your accommodation. The vast plains offer opportunities to spot wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes and various predators before arriving at Banagi Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive through the Serengeti. Explore the park’s vast plains and diverse habitats while searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, zebras, wildebeest and other wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your safari in the afternoon. Depending on the season, you may also witness the spectacular Great Migration, when thousands of wildebeest and zebras move across the Serengeti ecosystem.

Return to your Lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Today you will wake up very early to do an early morning safari before breakfast, to spot the animals when they are more active, and also to have a fantastic sunrise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After the game drive, return to the camp for brunch. 

In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, the 8th natural wonder of the world. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noah's Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa, including the rare black rhino.

The crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet.

The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses.

Morning game drive in Ngorongoro.
We will start the day very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on Earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Lake. 
After lunch, we will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha. We expect to be back in Arusha around 5 pm, although we are flexible in case there is a flight to catch or another situation.

Today will begin the stunning drive to Tarangire National Park. You will be picked up early in the morning from the accommodation while carrying lunchboxes. Following the wildlife drive, we will transport you back to the lodge for a restful night's sleep. It is commonly known that Tarangire National Park has sizable herds of elephants. From savannas to seasonal marshes, you will witness a range of scenery. At the same time, the Tarangire River meanders through the national park. It's possible to spot leopards lounging in the branches above and lions pursuing their prey. We will take you back to your accommodation to unwind, have supper, and spend the night when the game drives are completed.

Your experienced guide will ensure that you discover all the glorious wonders of nature in this unique place. Afterward, you will depart and drive back to Arusha. 

Later on, in the evening, you'll transfer to the airport for your Zanzibar trip for the rest of your holiday. Upon arrival, you'll meet our driver, who will take you to the accommodation in Zanzibar for dinner and overnight.

After your journey to Zanzibar, transfer to your hotel and settle into the beautiful surroundings of Nungwi. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the island’s stunning white-sand beaches, swimming in the warm turquoise waters, or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Indian Ocean.

In the evening, experience a memorable traditional dhow sunset cruise along the Zanzibar coastline. Enjoy spectacular ocean views as the sun sets over the horizon before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at Nungwi Beach. You can spend the day swimming, snorkeling in the pristine reef waters, or relaxing on the white coral sands.

For those looking for more adventure, several optional tours and activities are available at an additional cost. These may include a Stone Town walking tour, Spice Farm tour, dolphin tour, diving, snorkeling, parasailing, or other island excursions.

After a leisurely breakfast, depending on your flight departure time, you may have a chance for a short walk along the beach for stunning scenery. When it’s time to leave, you will be transferred from your hotel to Zanzibar Airport in a comfortable vehicle. At the airport, your guide will assist you with check-in procedures, ensuring a smooth transition for your onward journey
