Sustainability Policy

At Jairos Adventure, we take our responsibility to Tanzania seriously, both to its land and to its people. On safaris and Kilimanjaro treks, we stick to Leave No Trace principles, work hard to cut down on waste, and look for ways to shrink our carbon footprint year after year. We've also stepped up where conservation needs us most: donating firefighting equipment to Kilimanjaro National Park, leading reforestation efforts in the Rundugai area, and pitching in on wildfire suppression when it counts. On the wildlife side, we're proud supporters of the Serengeti De-snaring Project run by the Frankfurt Zoological Society, and we help care for a baby rhino at the Mkomazi sanctuary, among other projects close to our heart.

We believe good tourism should lift up the communities it touches. That's why we partner with the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project to make sure our guides, porters, and suppliers are paid fairly and treated well, and why we've set up an education fund to support schools in the Kilimanjaro region. We ask every guest to travel with respect for Tanzania's rich cultures, and we walk them through leave-no-trace practices before they ever set foot on the trail. As members of UN Tourism, we're part of a bigger conversation about doing this work responsibly, and we're always learning from other operators and conservation groups to do better.
