Marangu Route, or “Coca-Cola” route, is the most thronged of the available routes on Kilimanjaro today. This makes it ideal for hiking in the rainy season because it is the only route where overnight stays are in huts. An overused path through all the climate zones, it goes from tropical rainforest to eternal ice. Then, of course, it will present you with beautiful African scenery. This is the most popular and cheapest route in Climbing Kilimanjaro, hence it can be crowded at times between July and September, and December and March. The 6-day option is highly recommended because it gives better acclimatization compared to the 6-day. 6-day climbing Marangu Route programs are available, so you can choose depending on the amount of time at your disposal. Longer programs are always recommended over shorter ones for better acclimatization. Arrive in Tanzania. Meal: Breakfast and dinner included. 7-day climbing Rongai Route is the only route to Kilimanjaro that originates from the northern slopes of the mountain. This area of the Mountain rarely sees an influx of hikers; it is, however, no less fascinating than the popular southern and western slopes. We recommend it especially to those who appreciate hiking experiences that are solitary and secluded. The trip to the starting point-Nalemuru Gate-usually takes about 3-4 hours from the hotel. Rongai is also the only route to Mawenzi, a volcanic cone of Kilimanjaro and the third-tallest peak of Africa. On the return leg, you pass via Marangu, so that you can experience both flanks of the mountain for the 7-day climbing Rongai Route While the itinerary options for the 7-day climbing Rongai Route are six or seven days, the longer option is recommended for acclimatization and transition motivation. The Lemosho Route to Kilimanjaro is one of the most scenic trails on the west side of Kilimanjaro and offers a virtual climate expedition. The shallow mountain stream wanders peacefully through the Barranco Valley’s bottom amid the clouds. Frosting shields the valleys, whilst the azure glaciers scatter extravagantly across the ice fields. Immature trees flourish amongst the towering emerald canopies, and the lush vegetation conceals the moist floors. Thick shadows cast down from the bright sun. Faint buffalo trails are carved into the smooth grounds of the Shira Plateau, and milky white mist clings to and enrobes everything it can.

Marangu Route has been referred to as the 'Coca-Cola’ route, leading potential climbers to think it is an easy route to the summit. This is far from the truth, to be honest! The fact that it requires a minimum of 5 days to complete does not mean it is easier than any other route. The trail goes through the lush rain forest, moorland to the alpine desert, and ultimately the arctic zone at the peak and the same route down.
