School Hut is the final overnight camp before the summit attempt on Mount Kilimanjaro. Located at approximately 4,750 metres, it sits on the northern/eastern side of Kibo and provides a strategic base for the early-morning climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895m).
After arriving at School Hut, trekkers have an early dinner and spend the evening resting and preparing their equipment for the summit. Because the summit attempt usually starts around midnight, getting as much rest as possible is important.
The surrounding landscape is predominantly alpine desert, with very little vegetation due to the high altitude. From the camp, you can enjoy impressive views of Kibo and the surrounding high-altitude landscape.
