Moir Hut Camp is a remote and scenic campsite located at approximately 4,200 metres on the Northern Circuit Route of Mount Kilimanjaro. The camp sits in a sheltered valley surrounded by rugged volcanic landscapes and alpine desert terrain.
After trekking across the Shira Plateau, hikers continue toward Moir Hut, gradually gaining altitude while enjoying spectacular views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding mountain landscape. The area is quieter than many of the southern routes, making it an excellent place to experience Kilimanjaro's wilderness.
Moir Hut is also an important acclimatization point. Trekkers spend the night in mountain tents, allowing their bodies to adjust to the increasing altitude before continuing around the northern slopes toward Buffalo Camp and the higher sections of the route
