Day by Day Experience
Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater
5:00–5:30 AM – Departure from Arusha
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. Travel in a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle through the scenic countryside toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you'll pass local villages, coffee farms, and the highlands of northern Tanzania while your professional guide shares insights about the region and its wildlife.
8:30 AM – Ngorongoro Crater Viewpoint
Upon arrival, stop at the famous crater viewpoint to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the crater floor, over 600 meters (1,970 feet) below. This is an excellent spot for photography before descending into the crater.
9:00 AM – Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the crater for an unforgettable game drive across its diverse habitats, including open grasslands, acacia woodlands, wetlands, and Lake Magadi. The crater supports an incredible concentration of wildlife throughout the year.
1:00 PM – Picnic Lunch
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic site near a hippo pool while surrounded by the crater's spectacular scenery. Restroom facilities are available before continuing your safari.
2:00 PM – Afternoon Game Drive
After lunch, continue exploring different areas of the crater in search of more wildlife and enjoy excellent opportunities for photography before beginning your ascent back to the crater rim.
3:30 PM – Return to Arusha
Leave the crater and begin the scenic drive back to Arusha, arriving at your hotel in the early evening with unforgettable memories of one of Africa's most iconic safari destinations.
