TOUR OVERVIEW

Looking for an adventure in Africa? Our 7-day journey takes you deep into Kibale National Park, home to chimpanzees and 12 other primate species. You’ll also visit the Bigodi community to experience authentic African life, learn how to make local coffee straight from the garden to the cup, taste banana beer and banana gin, try basket weaving, enjoy traditional dances, and discover the history of Kibale and its people.

From there, explore Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll encounter hippos, lions, hyenas, elephants, leopards, warthogs, waterbuck, bushbuck, and countless bird species. A 2-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel with a professional local guide will leave you in awe, creating memories you’ll cherish forever.

The adventure continues in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you’ll come face-to-face, just 7 to 10 meters away, with a mountain gorilla family led by a powerful silverback in the mystical Afromontane forest. Finally, wrap up your trip with a game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, the only place in Uganda to see impalas. Here, you’ll also spot plains zebras, topis, and elands and enjoy either an early morning game drive or a guided walk.

 
 

ITINERARy

Day 1: Departure to Kibale National Park Via Fort Portal with A Stopover For Lunch

Our professional guide driver will meet you at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe in the morning after your breakfast and departure to Fort Portal with a stop for lunch in Fort Portal city. After lunch, you will proceed to Kibale Forest.
Accommodation: Isunga Lodge, Kibale Forest Camp, Chimpanzee Forest Lodge.

Transfer time is approximately 5-6 hours.
Meals, bottled drinking water, and 4WD are well planned.

Day 2 Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park

Along waiting day is here to meet your cousins, after breakfast at 7:30am, your guide driver will pick you at the hotel and travel down to Kibale park headquarter to meet as travelers who are ready to see chimpanzees in their natural habitats, you will have a briefing by 8:00am with Uganda wildlife authority rangers who will tell you about dos and don’ts of the park whilst with chimps, then join groups to see chimps. You will leave at 9:00am and return at 12:00pm.

Go back to the hotel for a hot lunch, and after lunch you will go for community and cultural walk to learn how to plant coffee, harvest to the cup, how to make banana beer and gin, and how to weave baskets, accompanied by a traditional dance from the women who make handcrafts.

Full-day trip with a lot of relaxation. Meals, bottled drinking water, and 4WD are well planned.

Day 3 Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy breakfast at 8:00am then travel for Queen Elizabeth NP with a stopover at the equator for photo shoots; you will arrive at around midday The Bush Lodge in Queen Elizabeth Park has a stunningly beautiful view over Kazinga Channel. Check in and order lunch for later at 2:00pm departure of the boat tour that will take 2 hours, covering 4km while seeing an abundance of wildlife on the watersideand aquatic bird species.


Return at 4:00pm and go for an evening game drive to see most of the big 4 resuming hunting and grazing in the park; later at 7:00pm, return to the lodge for a shower, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Enjoy breakfast at 8:00am; we leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha to see tree-climbing lions. It’s an option to take that route or via Ntungamo.

The road takes you through a beautiful landscape called the “Switzerland of Africa.” You will pass mountains, hills, and lakes with cultivated terraces and tropical rainforests and bamboo forests to reach the Ruhija gorilla tracking spots, Nkulingo, Buhoma, or Rushaga.

Driving time is approximately 7-8 hours.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Here comes the long-awaited day on this trip to Africa. Enjoy breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger guide) on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure.

The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access to tourists.

The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is a lifetime experience that will make you shed uncontrollable tears of love.

Return to the hotel and have some good rest after a strenuous trek. Or, if time allows, you can go for an evening community and cultural walk experience of African lifestyle/Bushmen.

Accommodation: Bakiga Lodge in Ruhija, Buhoma Gorilla Camp, or Rushaga Gorilla Lodge.
Tour time: Half-day trip.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bottled drinking water are well planned.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Early morning breakfast followed by a drive to Lake Mburo NP. You will have lunch in Mbarara before you proceed to Lake Mburo Park. This is a small but unique park and the only one in the western part of Uganda with impalas, zebras, elands, giraffes, buffaloes, and African long-horned cows. In the park, you will go for an evening safari drive or village/cultural walk or cycling in the park with an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide.

Day 7 Transfer to Entebbe

After a delicious breakfast, you will start your journey back to Entebbe international airport or kampala capital city or Rwanda Kigali. Cross the equator and have time to take photos and experiment on how the world rotate at the equator line. Buy a few souvenirs and have a quick picnic lunch. You will then drive to Kampala or Entebbe airport to catch your flights back home.

End of 7-day tour of gorillas, chimpanzees, and African lifestyles.
