If we didn’t talk about your safari plans when you arrived yesterday, we’ll go over them after breakfast today. Then, we’re off to Tarangire National Park, about a two-hour drive from Arusha. On the way, you’ll see lots of Tanzania’s beautiful scenery.

Tarangire is famous for its large number of elephants — it’s like an elephant playground! You’ll also see buffalo, lions, wildebeest, and other animals. Keep your eyes peeled for rare animals like kudu and oryx, and even smaller ones like colorful lizards and hyraxes. Bird lovers will enjoy spotting different birds, including the colorful lilac-breasted roller and the big ostrich. The park is also full of big baobab trees and wide-open grasslands. After we spend the day watching animals, we’ll head back to our camp for dinner and sleep overnight.

After breakfast, a short 30-minute drive will take you to Lake Manyara, a paradise nestled between Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, right by the vast Great Rift Valley. Lake Manyara National Park stands out for its diverse landscapes, home to a wide variety of animals. You’ll have the chance to see the lake, explore a lush forest filled with monkeys and birds, spot elephants among the trees, and visit the famous Manyara hippo pool where hippos can be seen bathing. In the afternoon, we’ll go to our lodge where you can enjoy dinner and spend the night.

After breakfast, we’ll head to the Serengeti, about 145 kilometers away, a drive of roughly 3 and a half hours. Once we get there, we’ll have lunch and then go on an afternoon safari. The Serengeti is famous for its huge, open plains that amaze everyone, especially if it’s your first visit. Over the next few days, we’ll see lots of different animals in this amazing place. Every safari drive here is a new adventure, filled with surprises from the wild. You’ll see many animals and beautiful scenes that change with the light of day. Remember to take photos, but also to just look around and enjoy the beauty of nature all around you. After a day full of adventure, we’ll go back to our camp for dinner and to sleep overnight.

Today, we’re spending the whole day exploring the Serengeti, where lots of wildlife roam freely. Our adventure might bring us face-to-face with big cats—cheetahs, leopards, and lions—especially since each season changes who we might see. We’ll take in the Serengeti’s varied scenes, from the water-rich Seronera River to the distinctive kopjes, large rock formations. Lunch will be outdoors, offering a unique experience that varies with the seasons. Depending on the time of year, we may also witness migrating herds alongside the resident animals, making for spectacular sights. After our day of discovery, we return to our lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we’re off to the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, where lunch will be served on the crater floor, overlooking the hippo pool. This spectacular site is one of Africa’s natural wonders, created over two million years ago by a volcanic eruption. Its fertile soils have fostered a unique ecosystem with the highest density of animals in Africa. As we explore the crater, we’ll be surrounded by a stunning variety of wildlife, including lions, zebras, buffaloes, and the elusive black rhinos. This experience offers incredible views and close encounters with wildlife. In the late afternoon, we’ll make our way back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

This morning, relish your breakfast in the hotel before a visit to Stone Town, a town rich in history and culture listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has guided historical tours. Stone Town is a confluence of African, Arab, Indian, and European cultures as seen in its structures and the environment. Your journey starts from the active local market that is a riot of colors, smells, and sounds; of bargaining, not forgetting haggling. Thereafter you will see a tranquil Cathedral of the 19th century located on the grounds that used to be occupied by a slave market, this Cathedral is very significant as it marks the end of the slave trade in 1873.

In the narrow and winding streets of Stone Town, you will find traditional Arab houses with a hidden courtyard behind a large front door, Indian style houses with elaborate carved wooden balconies on the front. You will tour important places such as, ‘Tip Tip House,’ the Old Fort as well as the People’s Palace Museum. The Silk Route is a rooftop restaurant with a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean as well as a wide variety of Indian dishes for lunch.

Once done with the field trip activities, you will be taken to your beach hotel for dinner and afterwards you will be free to spend the rest of the night by the ocean.
