TOUR OVERVIEW
Budget safari to Kidepo Valley National Park, Karamoja region & Murchison in Uganda. Karamoja is one of the least touristic and most interesting regions of Uganda; there are many things to see, no tourists (or very few), and it is also an amazing region to discover authentic ways of living that have changed very little over the last decades! You will end the trip with a 2-day safari in Kidepo Valley National Park, which has elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, and giraffes, and beautiful landscapes, since the park is surrounded by mountains.
The trip is from Entebbe International Airport through Kampala; accommodation is backpacker style.
ITINERARy
Whatever time you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and warmly welcomed by a driver guide from Trek Rwenzori Tours, who will shortly brief you and transfer you to the hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.
Accommodation: Via via hotel
Enjoy breakfast at 8:00am, then depart for Sipi Falls via Mbale, arrive at 1:30pm, check in to your hotel, and then order lunch, and after lunch, take a rest before heading for the coffee tour.
At 4:30pm, you will start a walk to trace the story of coffee from seed to cup. Sipi Falls Arabica Coffee is some of the finest in the world. Meet local farmers to tour their plantation and learn about the lifecycle of the crop and their role in the process.
Visit and tour the local processing plant to see the selected green beans before shipment. Finally learn the traditional art of roasting your own coffee and enjoy your own cup. At 6:30pm you will return to the hotel for a shower, dinner, and overnight.
Accommodation: Kasa lodge or Sipi lodge
After your delicious breakfast at 8:00am, you will start the walk to reach waterfallswith stunning views down to the plains, giving you an awesome adventure and curiosity.
You will reach the Chebonet Waterfalls, the second highest waterfallsafter the stunning Sipi Falls of 100 meters high against the 94-meter Chebonet Waterfalls.
The hanging valleys at both sides of the escarpment give you scenic pictorial eye nutrition and cool breezes coming from the plains.
The outwinding trails passing through the community give you a tranquil adventure and make you feel at home away from home. Thereafter, after 3-4 hours of this unique and exciting experience of Sipi Falls, your guide will take you back to the hotel, and then you will start the journey towards Kidepo Valley National Park. For this day you will stay in Moroto town closer to Kidepo Park.

Then we visit the Karamoja historic museum. In the afternoon, we go to the very end of the Karamoja region, to the town of Kaabong. We are now in one of the most remote places in Uganda! We will sleep in a budget hotel in Kaabong.

The Ik language is a Nilo-saharan language! The Ik people used to live in the Kidepo Park before it was created. You will hear their story and learn more about their life during the evening we stay with them around the campfire, or we hike to Mount Murongole and come back to the hotel in the evening.

You will spend the rest of the day on a great game drive and sleep in a budget Accommodation inside the park called Kidepo Savannah Lodge—Safari Tent
To spot a quiet number of wildlife with stunning views of the park, You will sleep inside the park again at Kidepo Savannah Lodge—Safari Tent.
On this day you will meet your guide at the hotel at 8:00am and start the journey to Murchison Falls via the amazing and beautiful landscapes of the northeast of Uganda and arrive in the afternoon. You will decide to do an evening game drive at Murchison Falls National Park or relax at the hotel.
Overnight is at Tilenga Safari Lodge, Bwana Tembo Safari Camp, or Red Chill Rest Camp.
If you sleep in the southern park at 6:00am, you will cross over on the bridge to the north bank of the Nile, taking along a packed breakfast from Red Chill Rest Camp, and take a 5-hour game drive around Common Wealth Track, Victoria, Research 1, and Research 11, which stretch between the Victoria and Albert Niles, and down to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta.
Most of the park’s game and birdlife can be spotted from here; we can’t guarantee you enough that you will see all the animals, but because we have a good amount of time in the park doing the game drive, we promise you will see a big number of wildlife. At 11.00, cross back to the south bank and have a hot lunch at RED CHILL REST CAMP.
14:00pm: Depart for a 3-hour boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of the Falls. Along the way you will be able to observe a wide variety of birds and wildlife, including numerous hippos and crocodiles – as well as breathtaking scenery.
Cold beverages are available during the boat tour at your own cost. You will arrive at big falls at 4:00pm then take a guided walk around the thunderous Murchison Falls, with the option of a mini-hike to view the sister falls, Uhuru, which was created in 1962 when the river burst its banks.
At 17:00pm your driver/guide will meet you off the fall and take you back to the hotel
Enjoy an early morning breakfast; your then meet your driver guide start hitting the road to Entebbe or Kampala via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking, you will arrive at Rhino at 9:00am and be briefed and sett of at 9:30am for tracking.
You will spend 2 hours and return at 12:30am then proceed at Kabalega dinner restaurant for early lunch, after lunch proceed the journey to Entebbe town via Kampala.
Overnight is at Vivia guest house or Blue monkey.
Depending on your flight time, your guide driver will be available to transfer you’re to the airport to catch your back home.
