Kikuletwa Hot Springs (also called Maji Moto) is a peaceful, beautiful activity destination in the Tanzanian savannah. The water is clear and warm, surrounded by green trees and soft sunlight like a tropical paradise.
It’s about a 2-hour drive from Moshi, the town where most Kilimanjaro climbs begin. Many travelers visit Chemka Hot Springs to relax after hiking or going on safari.
This place is special. It’s the only known spot in Tanzania and maybe all of East Africa, where underground water mixes with natural heat from the earth. This creates small warm pools with clean, flowing water, just like you’d find in top resorts in the Maldives or the Caribbean.
